Chalgrove

One of the larger villages in South Oxfordshire, Chalgrove has a thriving High Street featuring a community primary school, a village store and post office, a greengrocers/florist, pharmacy, paper shop, a traditional public house and a small brook complete with ducks that runs the entire length of the road. There are two further public houses in the village and a large recreation ground that has a skate park, children's play area, football pitches, tennis courts and outdoor fitness equipment.

The twelfth century church is the oldest building in the village followed by the fourteenth century Chalgrove Manor which has featured in episodes of Midsomer Murders.

The village has a thriving community with clubs and societies for every age and interest including Scouts, Cubs, Guides and Brownies, a youth club, football, netball, cricket and tennis clubs, a scrabble club, a book group, Age Concern, the Royal British Legion, parent and toddler club, wildlife and conservation society, walking group, dancing club, flower society and Tai Chi club. Two festivals including the Village Festival and Music Festival are held every year and the community also organises an annual 10km run.

The village also enjoys excellent communication links. It is just three miles from Watlington, six miles from Junction 6 of the M40 and just over seven miles from Junction 7/8 of the M40.
